This Blog consists of a peer review and self-evaluation of my Pitch to compare and contrast quality and content. (I write my comments into the blog instead of screenshots because some people I was reviewing accounts didn't let me comment. Although I did privately message them.)
Let's get straight into this Blog post with my first comment reviewing Bens's Pitch on the Australian rail networks' future.
My comment
"Your DA idea is well-defined and focuses on investigating the role of rail networks in Australia's electrified future. The historical context of Australia's rail networks provides a good starting point for exploring the limitations and strengths of the current infrastructure.
An idea for maybe some podcast questioning would be to incorporate the perspective of commuters and individuals in future planning is also a crucial aspect of your DA, as it brings attention to the human element of transportation and how it impacts people's daily lives.
This website provides information on the potential impacts and positive notes on Australia's future in electrifying train lines. How different job opportunities are impacted you in the future? I believe it will be beneficial in promoting your topic.
In your video content, you spoke very clearly and effortlessly, making it easy for the audience to understand and capture all the necessary information. I find your project to be well-structured, and I believe that the inclusion of various perspectives and relevant sources has the potential to make a significant contribution to the discourse on Australia's electrified future. Overall, your DA is impressive, and I look forward to seeing how it develops."
Next, I comment on Jess’s Pitch on Demystifying Decarbonisation.
My comment
"Your idea of using animated clips and images to represent environmental issues is really impressive and unique. I appreciate your connecting your pitch to the lecture and classwork content and providing relevant inspirations and articles to support your project.
While I am not an expert in the construction, I can imagine that creating these miniature models may be time-consuming. Staying on top of your creations to meet your project goals and deadlines is important.
One suggestion for your digital artifact is to explore the impact of environmental tourism photography and its potential to raise awareness about environmental issues. This book provides valuable insights into the approaches and impact of this form of photography:
Overall, your detailed and comprehensive timeline looks amazing, and I do not doubt that you will complete this project."
Lastly, my Feedback on Mia’s post on Fast Fashion
My comment
"Your methodology seems well thought out, and it's good that you plan to look for more sources to support your research. It's also great that you are considering the barriers to citizens' perceptions of climate change. When creating marketing plans to increase awareness and engagement, this is important.
Regarding feedback, have more details about your timeline and specific goals. It is also useful to consider how you will measure the success of your marketing plans and signal-boosting efforts. Creating an audience or media exposure may take a lot of work. Are you just going to share different content with these influencers? Additionally, consider any potential challenges or obstacles you may face during this project and how you plan to address them.

Going into detail about the importance of Tik Tok and other media platforms in promoting environmental issues will greatly justify why and how you will explore your topic.
Overall, your concept for your DA sounds exciting and relevant. You are using your passion for marketing to create marketing plans for popular social media accounts that focus on these issues."
Blog content concerning the feedback I provided.
Throughout my journey in this subject, I have come to appreciate the immense value of peer evaluations in expanding my knowledge and inspiring me with new ideas. In particular, I was blown away by my peers' impressive capabilities and creativity, such as Jess's DA on novums, which challenged me to think outside the box and find new ways to ensure my own DA, 'Down to the Wire,' is equally creative. I had never heard of a Novum before, so I was instantly invested in her ideas and how to incorporate more creativity into my work. I was also inspired by the idea of showcasing a behind-the-scenes video to provide insight into the thought processes behind my project; this will give my audience a more significant picture of what goes on in my brain when coming up with project ideas.
Similarly, Ben's blog post on the potential benefits of economically safe railway systems opened my eyes to the real-world impact of environmentally sustainable practices on job opportunities. This inspired me to explore other niches within the fast fashion industry to identify potential job opportunities that could be affected by efforts to achieve a more sustainable future.
Lastly, Mias DA was fascinating as it incorporated an aspect my brain wouldn't even think about, which is the idea of signal-boosting efforts. I don't have TikTok, so I'm still figuring out how this will create exposure and a media presence, but Mia knows much more than I do. Similar to my work, a few challenges must be overcome before our projects get underway.
Engaging in a feedback loop, wherein one analyzes and reviews peers' work, can generate novel insights and outcomes for one's project. I experienced this phenomenon as I discovered similarities between my work and others, leading us to explore diverse online platforms and resources.
My Feedback.
For instance, while providing feedback to Ben, I suggested that he consider the human factor in his project, such as the impact on commuters and individuals. When researching for his sake, the website provided by myself titled Automation: What does it mean for rail jobs.
"This is likely to translate into more job opportunities than job losses" - Luisa Moisio. Concerning opening new ideas for the potential fast fashion industry, I wonder if this is the case. We will see.
The work of Jess left a lasting impression on me, inspiring myself to explore new avenues for my project. In turn, I offered constructive feedback to Jess on her sculpting project, proposing a novel angle of investigating the environmental impacts of tourism photography. The article I provided: The Environmental Impacts of Wildlife Tourism. The Book details tourism photography's history and how it could positively or negatively impact the world. Something the pair could work on.
Lastly, with Mia, this was the website I was unaware of the most, mainly because I somewhat understand how tiktok works. In saying that, I feel like my feedback still provided some informative script on the link between using TikTok to promote environmental awareness when providing this website: Supporting the Creation of Audio-Visual Content While Promoting Environmental Awareness: The 2G4N Project'
Maybe she could lead down a similar path and discuss the importance of linking Tik Tok accounts at the same time as sharing the accounts.
Overall, this peer review project was immensely beneficial in providing focus and encouragement for my work. Through the quality digital artifacts of my peers, I gained greater confidence in my abilities while unintentionally discovering new ideas and paths to explore. My comments provided valid and insightful reviews that contributed to the growth and improvement of our collective projects.
