Kanye West
Personal Profile

Kanye Omari West was born on 8 June 1977 in Atlanta, Georgia. His parents divorced when Kanye was only three years old when Kanye and his mother moved to Chicago, Illinois, where he lived the rest of his early years. Kanye's father, Ray West, was a former Black Panther (The Black Panther for Self-Defense was a black power political organisation in the 1960s) and was known as one of the first black photojournalists within the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Dr Donda C (Williams) West's mother was an English professor at Clark Atlanta University and the chairman of the English department at Chicago state university. West explored his interests in the arts throughout his youth, starting to write poetry at age 5. Kanye's mother initially recalled it being in the third grade where Kanye indeed took a greater interest in drawing and music. from here, he began rapping that same year, and were the following years, he got himself into creating musical compositions. West found himself producing his first song, Green Eggs and Ham, at the ripe age of 13, physically begging his mother to provide him with some money to afford studio time. Whereas any mother would for their son, she encouraged him, allowing him to meet producer/newly found mentor No I.D. No I.D. taught Kanye the ropes of producing, teaching Kanye how to effectively sample and create rhythms and melodies after Ye claimed his first Sampler at the age of 15. From a young age, West always dreamed of becoming something notable. His passion and perseverance enlightened him to enforce a mindset where everything is possible. Due to this persona, Kanye West punctured his name into the minds of the colossal Kanye West fan base we see today.
