My investigation consisted of countless hours of Instagram and Twitter research. Due to Kanye West's forever-changing media presence on Instagram, I had to look into multiple different accounts which keep up with Kanye wears life. This consisted of diving head first into the media platform world and scrolling on Reddit for hours to see people's ideas about Kanye's most recent incidents. His recent break up with his multi-million dollar clothing deals with Gap and Adidas have created chaos on Social Media, and oh boy, did we hear about it. Kanye has taken to great lengths to express his outrage for this deal and is creating great content for my upcoming website. Other factors which have helped my autoethnographic approach have been diving deep into my thoughts and feelings, going into the mind of a Kanye consumer, and developing an idea of what id like to see across my websites.
Autoethnographic research process.
- Kanye's Most recent Instagram post, Saga, where he posted around 30 Images related to Pete Davidson (His ex-wife's old partner) and partnership deals.
- Kanye hasn't posted on Twitter since 2020 when he was running for the presidency. This gives me information about analysing a timeline of Kanye's Media Presence through Twitter.
Kanye West's recent outrage was towards former brand partnership Adidas. These posts are related to the high-up ambassadors for the Adidas Brand. He made a deal with Kanye, where he didn't believe he was getting fair treatment on the terms and conditions of the partnership. All will help with different sections of my website, 'Kanye's recent rants'.
- Kanye is criticising JP morgan Wealth Management business. Using Instagram to call out high-profile franchises such as Adidas and Gap.
- Daniel cherry, the former DC Comics general manager, was taken into Kanye's light after he denied a deal to work with West; Daniel then took over the GM role within Adidas (Where Kanye had partnered) without Ye's knowledge. (BleedingCool.com)
My Epiphanies
An idea popped into my head thinking about all the algorithms placed throughout our technology today; it got me thinking about if Kanye west even needs algorithms to boost his Media existence or if he is more powerful than the algorithms themselves.
With the overwhelming change in his media presence since the first epiphany, Ye has switched his account back to 2 posts, and all his propaganda has been deleted. my aim is to try to figure out why he works like this. Was it so Kanye could make a point and then have it vanish? Or is it just to show how powerful his media presence is in terms of his ability to turn people around?
Kanye west has now created outrage between high-in charge people in the franchises Adidas and Gap, saying he will no longer work with them. Much information has been coming out on this and will be necessary for my website development.

This article, written by Caithlin Mercer, dives into a different aspect I wouldn't think I would be examining for this topic. Cathlin asks several questions that explore Kanye Wests Twitter posts compared to ‘Fake News. As well as exploring the media impact Kanye has on the world, this article was written in 2018. Mercer states that ‘between April 14 and May 15, wrote 160 articles reporting on his Twitter and media appearances. Many more facts about Kanye's ability to control Media are shown throughout Mercer's work, therefore being vital for mine.
All the ideas and concepts listed above have been taken into significant consideration in effectively linking ideas to my Website.
