BCM 241 Pitch
Contextual Blog
Research in an autoethnographic manner is a valuable form of qualitative research to evaluate people's lives and figure out why people do what they do. Ellis and Bochner (2000) define it as an autobiographical theme of writing that exhibits multiple sheets of awareness, connections and a personal sense of the ideas. Ellis and Bochner's definition is where my intention for this media niche will remain. In terms of research, my approach will focus on gathering an in-depth understanding of the platforms Kanye uses the most. A relationship between his fans and potentially haters, exploring how different his social media relevance is compared to the music being produced since his first album, 'College Drop Out'. On a bigger scale, the idea behind the media persona is an efficient and well-trusted website, where information about what Kanye's been doing and the humorous side of how he's expressed himself through media platforms.
As said throughout the lectures, the primary ethnography research method is observational field research. Observational research focuses on understanding human activity and the social process by diving deep into the behaviour of our study participants ( Paul S Gray 2012). This will be achieved by thorough research into the social media followers of Kanye West and how they visualise his intentions on the topic of his media uploads, along with exploring fan pages to dissect the audience's belief on the 'social process' of Kanye West's media presence.
Field/Mind mapping...
The field mapping for this process has been shown below and contains information on how my digital artifacts process will go forward. (unable to link to a blog post as it isnt finalised yet)

Brief Digital artifact Timeline
Following on, this is the timeline for my approach to getting this BCM 241 assignment complete.

To conclude, a massive focus will remain on keeping my media persona present in the minds of my audience; as listed above, these research methods will need to be taken into deep consideration to form and enforce the visions held at this current point.
